The Civil Guard dismantles a marijuana plantation in an address in Cieza (03/10/2018)

The Civil Guard has brought the case to the attention of the Social Services of the City of Cieza

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the operation 'MASHA', established to prosecute drug trafficking, has dismantled a cannabis sativa plantation inside a house in Cieza where 74 marijuana plants have been seized , fertilizer products and notebooks with annotations for the treatment of the plant in each phase of the crop.

A person has been arrested as an alleged perpetrator of the crimes of cultivation and manufacture of drugs, defraudation of electricity and ill-treatment in the family.

The investigation began after knowing that in a home in Cieza there could be a marijuana plantation and that, in addition, in the house they lived, in alternate weeks, their two children, minors.

Agents specializing in Prevention of Public Safety of the Benemérita initiated a device aimed at locating the property, as well as to verify if, as suspected, marijuana was grown inside.

Once located the property and requested the corresponding order of entry and registration of the judicial authority, the Civil Guard has accessed the house, where they have found, distributed by the different rooms of the building, a total of 74 plants of cannabis sativa in advanced growth status, notebooks with annotations for the treatment of the plant in each phase of the crop, in addition to an abundant number of fertilizer products that occupied the entire bath of the toilet.

The house was in terrible conditions of habitability, among others, due to the existence of numerous unprotected electrical connections that hung from the ceiling of the corridor, with the consequent risk of electrocution.

The power supply, moreover, had been fraudulently connected to the network.

The civil guards have arrested their resident, a 31-year-old man, of Spanish nationality and with a bulky criminal record, as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of growing and making drugs and defrauding electric power.

Their children resided in alternate periods in the home full of marijuana

The investigations carried out by the agents have allowed to find out that the now detainee kept in the house a clandestine plantation of marijuana, of an intensive character, as well as that in alternate weeks, his two children, minors, resided in the property in terrible conditions and surrounded by the aforementioned plants.

According to the investigation, one of them was forced to buy drugs under the threat of assault, which, given the child's refusal, occurred on occasion, so, in addition, is attributed the alleged authorship of crime of mistreatment in the family environment.

The operation 'MASHA' has culminated with the arrest of a person as alleged author of the crimes of cultivation and drug manufacture, defraudation of electricity and ill-treatment in the family.

At the domicile under investigation, a cannabis sativa crop has been dismantled, with the seizure of 74 plants and the necessary tools for intensive cultivation.

The arrested, the drug and the seized effects, and the diligences instructed have been made available to the Court of Instruction number 3 of Cieza.

The Civil Guard has brought to the attention of the Social Services of the City of Cieza the situation in which the minors were when they resided in the domicile of their parent.
