Pedro Saura is committed to promoting the PGI to achieve it at the beginning of this term (30/04/2019)

The agricultural sector met last week with the Secretary of State for Infrastructure to guarantee the support of the national government to its traditional demands.

In this way, Pedro Saura promised to give an early impulse to the achievement of the PGI, as well as to continue betting on the employment and development of Cieza.

Last Thursday the Mayor, Pascual Lucas and the councilor of agriculture, Antonio Moya, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Infrastructures and head of the list for the PSRM congress, Pedro Saura, held a sectoral meeting on Agriculture in the Sermuco rooms with the representatives of the agrarian organizations and of the cooperatives of our municipality.

The main objective of this meeting was to transfer to the Secretary of State, as a high representative in Madrid, and as a Murcian, the commitment to support and lighten, when it reaches the Ministry, the file for the achievement of the PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) for our yellow peach

The Secretary of State undertook to speed up the processing of the file, which is already submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture in Murcia, in order to reach Brussels as soon as possible, since it is the European Commission that grants the seal.

Also, Pedro Saura committed to treat this file as it deserves.

As well as underlined the effort made by the City Council and the whole agricultural sector to facilitate the work of this project by the hand also Flowering.

In this meeting, other topics and concerns of the sector such as water, agricultural insurance and the sale price were also discussed, to which the Secretary of State undertook to give unequivocal support and his involvement from the Government of Spain.
