The Civil Guard and the National Police have jointly developed the operation 'VERRAT-DESAFĂŤO', an investigation aimed at prosecuting drug trafficking that has resulted in the dismantling of an active criminal group based in Cieza and Murcia that, presumably, He distributed cocaine both in the Region of Murcia and in Almeria and Granada.

In the development of the operation, the eleven members of the criminal group have been arrested, including their ringleader: a neighbor of Cieza, and a large amount of cocaine, cutting substance, weapons, cash, supplies related to drug trafficking have been seized and vehicles

Cash of both bodies initiated investigations at the end of last year in order to prosecute drug trafficking.

On the one hand, civil guards of the Main Post and Judicial Police Team of Cieza began the operation 'VERRAT' and, on the other, national police of the UDYCO of Murcia began the operation 'CHALLENGE'.

The fluid collaboration between both bodies allowed to detect coincidences between both operations and a joint work team was established to develop the research.

The first steps of both operations allowed to verify the existence of a criminal organization based in Murcia and Cieza, composed of Spanish and Colombian citizens dedicated to the sale of cocaine to final distributors settled both in the Region of Murcia, as in the provinces of Almeria and Pomegranate.

The investigated organization was dedicated to the sale and distribution of narcotic substances, in turn counting on diverse people of confidence for the distribution and later collection of the same.

They also maintained direct contacts with members of other organizations that were dedicated to providing the necessary infrastructure for sending, from South American countries, significant amounts of cocaine.

Last May, the investigators detected that two members of the criminal group were going to obtain a large amount of Madrid drugs and were going to transfer it to the Region.

The transport was going to be carried out in a vehicle that had a handmade cabin for concealment: caleta.

In this first phase, three members of the organization were arrested and several house searches were carried out where narcotic substances, effects related to drug trafficking were seized and five other members of the criminal group were arrested.

Investigators continued the practice of investigations in order to locate the rest of the people who were part of the criminal group that, as a result of the perseverance of the agents, last July it was detected that the suspects had moved to the center of the peninsula To acquire a significant amount of cocaine and that it was going to be transported in a vehicle, I also had an artisanal concealment cabin (caleta).

The researchers established a tracking device and fence composed of agents of both bodies that concluded with the arrest of the vehicle at the height of Cieza, after having traveled for a long section at a speed close to 200 km / h.

After intercepting the vehicle, the researchers carried out a thorough inspection inside the vehicle, which, with the support of dogs trained to search for drugs and their canine guides, found inside the cabin, in a cove that was under the dashboard, A packet of cocaine weighing one kilogram.

Immediately and prior judicial authorization was made the entry and registration of several addresses related to the suspects, which allowed the rest of the members of the organized group to be arrested and seized various effects and vehicles related to the handling and sale of narcotic substances.

The operation has culminated in the arrest of the eleven members of the criminal group as alleged perpetrators of drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons and belonging to a criminal group.

In addition, in the six records carried out in Cieza and Murcia, as well as in other actions, more than two kilograms of cocaine have been seized in different forms, cutting substance, a real fire gun, a laser type electric gun, 5,000 euros in cash, a press and material for handling the drug and a dozen vehicles, among others.

The Spanish and Colombian detainees, aged between 25 and 36 years old, residing in Cieza and Murcia, and most of them with a history of similar criminal acts, the seized drug, the effects seized and the proceedings taken have been made available to the Court of Instruction number 4 of Murcia, which has exercised the judicial direction of the operation and has decreed the entry into prison of four of those arrested, including the leader of the dismantled plot.
