Five people have been arrested as alleged authors of more than a dozen crimes of robbery with force and theft in commercial establishments
They organized their criminal tasks to assault businesses from which they subtracted, mainly, the collection of the premises and the recreational machines
Those arrested have a broad criminal record for property crimes
Murcia, October 17, 2018. The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'COCKROACHES', an investigation aimed at clarifying numerous robberies in shops in the municipality of Cieza, which has resulted in the dismantling of a criminal group, whose five members have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of 11 robberies with force and theft.
The investigation began last July, when the Civil Guard learned of a series of robberies, perpetrated in commercial establishments in the municipality of Cieza, whose main objective was the subtraction of cash, cash registers and recreational machines, as well as any valuables that are easy to transport.
The first inquiries made it possible to verify that the modus operandi used to access the premises presented a common pattern, which made the agents suspect the participation of several people who, in an organized way, monitored the premises and executed the robberies with agility and expertise .
From that moment, the Benemérita had numerous surveillance devices, aimed at preventing new thefts, and others of discreet surveillance in the affected areas, with the intention of locating the suspects.
In parallel, the investigators collected evidence and evidence from the different criminal scenarios, as well as statements from possible witnesses and images of the security cameras of one of the assaulted establishments.
This information allowed us to find out that behind these robberies there was a group of people who acted generally at dawn, of which at least three acted in a coordinated manner, so that while one of them watched the surroundings, the rest accessed property after violating the doors or the moons with blunt objects, all with the face covered to avoid being identified.
As a result of the evidence obtained, the Civil Guard focused the investigation on several experienced delinquents neighbors of the municipality, from which data were collected about their movements, which allowed to find out that, on occasion, they made the change of abundant fractional currency in some bank entity of the municipality.
Recently and after several months of investigation, the Civil Guard has located and detained five people as alleged authors of the crimes of robbery with force and theft.
These are five men, aged between 30 and 40, with a bulky criminal record for crimes against property, one of which is emerging as the alleged leader of the criminal organization now dismantled.
The operation 'COCKROACHES' has culminated in the arrest of the five members of a criminal group allegedly dedicated to theft with force in commercial establishments, which has allowed the clarification of 11 crimes of robbery with force and theft in Cieza.
The arrested and the proceedings have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Cieza, who has decreed the entry into prison of one of the arrested.
