Saorín asks for respect for the rules on dog walking (04/05/2020)

The councilor for Health and Public Health of the City of Cieza reminds that dogs cannot be released while playing sports, hiking or walking. The Department of Health and Public Health of the City of Cieza, directed by Francisco Saorín, has issued a press release asking for respect for the rules on dog walking. The councilor has warned that, due to the de-escalation, some residents who go for a walk, do sports or hike do so with their dogs; animals that loose on the roads and trails of La Atalaya and that, sometimes, are 15 or 20 meters ahead of the owner.

"This situation," Saorín says, "causes other people to meet loose dogs of which they are unaware of their reactions, which induces discomfort, insecurities and fears."The municipal head of Health and Public Health recalls that "it is not allowed to give long walks to our dogs: Short walks, just to cover physiological needs," he says.Likewise, Saorín has urged pet owners to bring a bottle of water with detergent to subsequently clean urine and bags for feces.

Also, he recalled that we should walk our animals at times of less influx. Therefore, he has warned people who take advantage of the de-escalation of the confinement to take long walks, that it is best that they reconsider to avoid a possible sanction. Finally, the mayor has reminded dog owners that they must be on a leash and that they can never be released during walks, dismissing the "does nothing" argument.
