Ayuntamiento and Afemce sign an agreement to promote the labor integration of young people with mental illness (08/09/2017)

The City Council of Cieza and the Association of Relatives of People with Mental Illness of Cieza and Comarca (Afemce) have signed this Friday a collaboration agreement in order for both entities to participate in the program of job placement of young people with intellectual disability and illness mental 'Together we are capable', promoted by Fundación Mapfre.

In particular, the mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, and the president of Afemce, Josefina Ruiz, have initialed a collaboration agreement with the director of Mapfre's Office, Nicolas Navarro, which aims to facilitate non-labor practices by users of this association of relatives of people with mental illness, and this under the program 'Together we are capable' developed by the Mapfre Foundation.

The president of Afemce has referred to the importance of continuing to collaborate with the City of Cieza through this agreement that will enable two young people to carry out training practices for eight weeks in dependencies of the Department of Employment and the Municipal Sports Service.

He also thanked the City Council and the Mapfre Foundation for their trust in the association.

For its part, the councilor has shown the good relations between the two entities.

In this regard, he said that this is a very important agreement that will provide for second time non-work practices to two users of Afemce.

Lucas congratulated the association for its work.

In his words, "in Cieza we have a great association that helps others and a great company that also does the same".

Nicolás Navarro commented that, "thanks to the satisfactory results achieved the previous year, the beneficiaries will be able to acquire skills and experience in the tasks of the different municipal agencies."

He adds that, in addition, the City Council "has been continuously demonstrating its commitment to the most vulnerable people, supporting different actions in favor of them in the workplace as well as housing, education or health."

In that act that has taken place in the Blue Room of the consistory ciezano has also been present the Councilor for Employment, Antonio Moya.

To date, the program 'Together we are capable' has made it possible for more than 4,000 companies to actively collaborate with this initiative, facilitating the training of 2,238 people and the insertion of 2,554 people with intellectual disability and mental illness.
