The mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, in the company of the Councilors of Social Welfare and Education, Cristina García-Vaso and Manuela Fernández, respectively, has presented at a press conference the guide on disability.

The municipal clarifies that the City of Cieza, through the Municipal Commission of Disability and the team of work of Educational and Social Inclusion of the Childhood Network Cieza, "aims with this tool a change in our city from an inclusive conception" .

He adds that "everyone knows that for me, and for the entire government team, it is a fundamental objective to work for people, for all, but with special sensitivity for those who most need institutional support, for the most vulnerable, in the commitment to reduce differences and support social cohesion We firmly believe in an inclusive city in which all its citizens enjoy the same opportunities, regardless of our situation or any other circumstance of our life. but especially to children and adolescents with disabilities and those other children who, in some way, find themselves outside of the vital opportunities that make full citizenship possible, and that present great difficulties to participate in activities in daily life , in the leisure and free time that they need for their condition as children, and we want to encourage them to have

n roles similar to those of their peers and, for this, we will ensure that there are adequate policies and practices in force in our city. "

Lucas assures that "work projects are being developed aimed at the inclusion of children with disabilities, which will be directed to schools and society in general, always with a focus on inclusion. From now on, and this was fully approved by the proposal presented by the Council for Children and Adolescents of our city, spaces and activities carried out at the municipal level have an inclusive nature, so that any child can participate independently of their physical, social or cultural condition. "

One of the actions that have materialized is this Resource Guide for Disability Cieza has been developed with the support of the professionals of the Childhood Network Cieza, with the will to become a useful tool for children and adolescents in the city , so that they know the resources they can access to improve their quality of life and equal opportunities.

The guide collects data on social, sports, educational, leisure and free time resources for people with disabilities provided by public administrations and private entities of Cieza.

Changes and modifications that may occur in each of the resources reflected in it may be made.
