The Civil Guard dismantles an experienced family clan dedicated to home theft (01/03/2018)

Six people have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of robbery with force (5), cultivation and trafficking of drugs, illegal possession of weapons, defraudation of electricity and attack to agent of the authority

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'BARRATERA', an investigation that has culminated with the dismantling of an experienced criminal group, settled in the municipality of Cieza, whose six members have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of Robbery with force (5), cultivation and trafficking of drugs, illegal possession of weapons, defraudation of electrical fluid and attack to agent of the authority.

In the two registers, practiced in a rural house of the Barratera place and in a building located in El Cabezo de la Fuensatilla de Cieza, 51 doses of cocaine, three kilos of marijuana buds, 13 doses of marijuana, 58 seizures have been seized. sativa cannabis plants, cash and material for the cultivation and dosage of the drug.

Many stolen objects have been recovered, including a hunting rifle and ammunition, as well as agricultural tools and butane gas bottles.

The investigation began last October, after the Civil Guard became aware of the commission, continuously, of several robberies with force in country houses in the municipality of Cieza, facts that had generated some social alarm.

The first inquiries allowed to verify the coincidence both in the modus operandi used to commit the robberies, and in the use of a vehicle that had been seen in the place La Barratera, where the thefts had been committed.

The Meritorious established a series of periodic devices, both surveillance and investigation, aimed at identifying the suspects who, apparently, acted in a coordinated manner to avoid being located and detained.

These police work allowed to identify two people with a bulky criminal record when they traveled around the rural area affected by the robberies, which focused the investigation on knowing their daily routine, as well as identifying other people with whom they could relate. in the criminal sphere.

The investigators located his home, a house owned by a bank that had been occupied by the suspects in the Ascoy Village of Cieza, whose surveillance allowed the identification of the other members of the criminal group now dismantled.

The monitoring of these objectives allowed the agents to detect that, due to possible neighborhood disagreements, the suspects had left this property to occupy, also illegally, a country house located in the La Barratera area.

Once the necessary evidence was obtained, the corresponding entry and registration order was requested in this last location, a rural house that had fraudulently connected the electricity supply and that also had video surveillance cameras in its perimeter.

In the house several stolen objects were recovered, among which was a hunting rifle and ammunition.

In addition, a greenhouse was destroyed for the indoor cultivation of cannabis sativa with 58 plants at full capacity.

Collaboration with the Local Police of Cieza

The development of the investigation made it possible to verify that, habitually, several members of the family clan frequented another property in Cieza that, in view of its iron custody, could be the place where they stored stolen objects, as well as where they developed another type of criminal activity : the retail sale of narcotic substances.

In the middle of this month and authorized by the competent court, the Civil Guard, in collaboration with the Local Police of Cieza, registered this location, located in El Cabezo de la Fuensantilla.

Inside the property were identified and arrested two of the suspects a man and a woman, aged 48 and 43 as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of robbery with force and drug processing and trafficking.

The woman was also detained for assaulting the police force at the time of her arrest.

The result of the inspection was the recovery of several stolen objects and the seizure of 51 doses of cocaine, three kilos of marijuana buds, cash, precision scales and a notebook with handwritten notes on drug transactions.

The property, an old premises owned by the City Council of Cieza in disuse, had also been fraudulently connected to the public electricity network so that, once the registration was completed, municipal workers tapied the accesses to avoid their occupation.

Recently, the Civil Guard has completed the investigation with the arrest of four other people, three men and one woman, aged between 32 and 44, as alleged members of the criminal organization.
