The program of tours "Cieza, destination for all" starts a new path (28/11/2011)

The Department of Tourism of the Municipality of Cieza year has launched a campaign to promote the main tourist resources of the municipality.

Through guided tours, lasting until June 2012, the public can discover the attractions offered by our town.

The site Siyasa Medina Islamic or rock art Serreta Cave, among others, reopened its doors after the summer break.

To this end the Department of Tourism has official tourist guides that will lead guided tours to these places.

The town of Cieza, crossroads, holds a rich historical legacy inherited from the different cultures that have occupied the territory since antiquity.

During the promotion campaign will visit the places of tourist interest, some of which are not only highly important, but only in regional and national heritage.

The sights and routes included in this campaign are:

MEDINA Siyasa.

Islamic period archaeological site (s.XI-XIII).

Its well preserved original structures to appreciate the ancient Islamic enclave, becoming one of the most important collections of Western Islam, with reference to the study of the daily life of Al-Andalus.

Siyasa MUSEUM.

Preserves and exhibits the archaeological remains of the different cultures that have been found in the town of Cieza, paying special attention to the Andalusian era, represented at the site of Medina Siyasa.

THE CAVE-SERRETA SIMA.

Open to the impressive Canyon Almadenes, the cave has in its interior with the only Roman peninsular cave habitat, as well as a remarkable set of rock art, including the catalog of rock art of the Mediterranean Basin, declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1998 .

Teodoro MILL.

Old flour mill dating back to s.

XVI, now completely renovated and converted into a museum to show visitors the traditional method of production of flour by grinding wheat.

URBAN ROAD.

Through the streets of the old city along which we find out the most unique and emblematic buildings in the history of Cieza.

ROUTE OF CRIBS.

Nativity scenes tour of the different monuments, on the occasion of Christmas presents in our city.

EASTER ROAD.

Visit the museum houses some of the fraternities and sororities that participate in this festival, declared of Regional Tourist Interest.

Since the launch several years ago, of that campaign have been thousands of visitors who have come to our town to visit and enjoy the uniqueness of our tourism resources, attracted both by the attractiveness of the cultural offer of the municipality as the natural beauty of the sites are located in some of them.
