Education provides 1,750 foreign language school tours to museums and attractions visitors (09/05/2014)

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities provides 1,750 primary and secondary school foreign language tours to places of historical, cultural and artistic attractions of the region within the 'Discover' program initiative '+ Languages' visits.

This additional activity that takes place during the third quarter of the course aims to improve communication skills and understanding of students in languages.

During a day, the Primary and Secondary students visit a museum or monument in the region and get all the explanation in English, mainly in French.

The Director General of Educational Quality, Innovation and Attention to Diversity, Begoņa Iniesta, today attended the activity that the students of Secondary School Stables have been made at Medina Siydsa Museum Cieza

"These students have been working with teachers in the run with specific materials designed by teachers and the Ministry of Education on the visit, which facilitates these actions to be much more productive," said Begoņa Iniesta.

The training activity, which this year involved 35 schools and 1,750 students, is performed in the Salzillo Museum and the Museum of the City of Murcia, in the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology (Arqua) in Medina Siydsa Museum Cieza and the Roman Theatre in Cartagena and Lorca Castle.

For the Fortaleza del Sol, the visit will be dramatized and will feature games, quizzes and workshops.

The Director General concluded that "this activity and others that are working within the initiative '+ Languages' give response and complement the training of foreign language and contributes to employ English in real situations outside the classrooms. total will be 500 pupils in primary and 1,250 secondary who participate in the 'Discover' program in this course. "

Teaching XXI

Begoņa Iniesta also used the visit to Cieza, which was accompanied by Mayor Antonio Tamayo, to check the performance of 'Teaching XXI' in the Secondary School Diego Tortosa.

In this school, 80 students from 1st Secondary Education are trained entirely in digital format.

The initiative's main purpose is promoting the widespread incorporation of digital media and educational resources and technologies for information, communication and knowledge in the development of teaching.

The project offers all students who choose to start first of ESO in this mode, the possibility of continuing the same during the whole stage, from traditional book electronic devices.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities opened the call for 20 new centers join this initiative.

This extension will be and 45 secondary schools in the region who offer this type of students and their families.

More than 2,500 first-year students may choose ESO digital education.

These students, to join the 1,300 who follow this course and its curriculum with digital books, makes nearly 4,000 students participate in 'Teaching XXI'.
