The Council organizes activities and gifts distributed by the World Tourism Day (21/09/2015)

'One billion tourists billion opportunities'.

It is the theme chosen this year to commemorate the 27th September 2015 World Tourism Day, which will be hosted country to Burkina Faso.

With this motto is to pay special attention to the contribution of tourism to one of the fundamental pillars for a more 0sostenible future for all community development.

This interest is in line with the global transition to the Millennium Development

Sustainable promote the United Nations and the principles to be followed after 2015.

Tourism, which accounts for 9% of global GDP, generates one of every 11 jobs in the world and is a key sector for income generation in emerging and developing economies is widely recognized for its ability to respond to global challenges.

The consolidation of the economic impact of tourism has increased its social responsibility and its political relevance, and more and more countries give greater weight to tourism in economic planning and development policies.

With this focus on the community, the World Tourism Day 2015 emphasizes how tourism can encourage and promote sustainable development at the community level.

The community-based tourism involving local people in decision-making processes based on the priorities of each place.

The opportunity to be part of the value chain of the tourism sector makes Involve host communities actively involved in the development process.

Thus, tourism becomes a catalyst for social cohesion and goes beyond the immediate impact on job creation and the positive economic consequences.

Tourism contributes to improve, for example, the capacity of local governance, which further multiplies the effect of tourism.

With the election of Burkin Faso as host of this year, the tourism sector seeks to integrate a continent like Africa, which has been neglected in all aspects for much of history, and, through tourism seeks revival .

The World Tourism Day is celebrated every year on September 27, the largest international event for tourism.

The purpose of the celebration, according to the foundation charter is "to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic values."

The choice of date was due to its coincidence with the anniversary of the adoption of the WTO Statutes on 27 September 1970.

Activities and giveaways

To commemorate this day, the City of Cieza allow free entrance to the museum on Sunday Siyâsa 27 and organized that day, through the Department of Tourism, a guided tour at a special price to Serreta cave and down in rafts on the river Segura half the usual price.

All participants will receive a gift of the Department of Tourism.
