Last Saturday, March 28, 2009, the Royal Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesus (Nazarene) of Cieza, blessed the images for his new step "Mystery Crown of Thorns."
The event took place in the Church of the Assumption of the Town and was attended by illustrious Mayor Don Antonio Tamayo Gonzalez, president of the Board of the Brotherhood, Don Rafael Salmeron Pinar, the creator of the work, the sculptor Don Francisco Romero Zafra, as well as presidents and presidents and directors of the various guilds Cieza.
The images are carved in cedar real and shows us Christ seated on a bench that simulates the marble Cordoba, bound and totally wrecked after the flogging and a Roman soldier who just embed the crown of thorns on the head of the Lord being the image of clothing, as evidenced by his armor.
These new images will parade next Wednesday in Holy Procession on a throne, which will put them on stage in the first phase, the work of renowned carver, also Córdoba, José María Higuera.
