The Community provides a new development of housing for young people in Cieza (08/06/2009)

The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Mayor of Cieza, Antonio Tamayo, today presented the keys to a new class of public housing have been built within the Regional Youth Housing Plan 2005-2008 which manages this counseling.

The home prices range between 64,000 and 100,000 euros, and have been promoted by the Housing and Land Institute (IVS) in a parcel of his property of 254 square meters located in Avenida José Ríos Gil.

The development consists of eight houses of two and three bedrooms with a maximum area of 75'3 square meters and a minimum of 60'9, which also have six parking spaces and eight storage rooms.

The Minister of Public Works said the regional government's effort "to make available to the citizens of the region housing in every municipality in the autonomous region, making it easier for younger citizens access to their first home."

José Ballesta recalled that "85 percent of people entering for the first time at a shelter are persons under 35 years, so that from the regional government will enable direct payments and special subsidies in different lines of action to facilitate citizens' access to housing, among which is the promotion of housing reserved for this group. "

He also recalled that the IVS has made promotion of 17 other houses in the town, already completed, in Calle Manuel de Falla.

Proceedings of the municipality Repair Plan

The Ministry of Public Works, through the IVS, has awarded the City of Cieza, a grant of 200,000 euros for the repair and upgrade of 79 houses owned by the IVS on a rental basis and whose works are in the process of recruitment.

This measure is framed within the Repair Plan and the IVS invest 1.8 million euros to improve the living conditions of 900 community-owned housing in the municipalities of the Region.

Also, the Minister stressed that "these actions, which are made possible by extraordinary investment under the Revitalization Plan, to ensure the right tenant families to enjoy decent housing at the same time it meets one of the objectives of regional government to ease the current crisis, employment generation at the municipal level, by investing in projects that generate economic activity and involve an injection of liquidity in local government of the Region of Murcia. "
