The CEA "Vega Alta" of Cieza will celebrate on Thursday, April 4, its particular Fiesta del libro, well in advance of the "official" date, which, as is known, is the 23rd of this month.
The coincidence with the holiday period, along with other needs of organization, advise this advance.
After all, every day can be the day of the book in an educational center, because books continue and will continue to be the central element in the transmission of knowledge.
There are many years now that our teaching center has been celebrating a day of commemoration and homage to these endearing objects that allow us to know, enjoy, feel and live beyond the strict limits of our senses, surpassing them.
There is no doubt that books have something magical, something inexplicable, a certain fascination for what they have of promise, for who approaches them, to make them a better person.
To teach adults is, to a great extent, to bring them closer to books, to make them aware of the many possibilities that their pages hide, of the great opportunity that their reading represents.
Every year we have tried to improve ourselves in this effort to make our students friends of the books.
And in this 2019 we persist in the attempt.
Students and teachers of the Adult School have been preparing for many weeks with great care all that this day will be able to enjoy at the event, which will take place in the IES "Tortosa" Hall of Acts at 7:00 p.m.
As a great novelty, we will have the presence of the writer Laura Morán Iglesias, author, among other novels, of Through Sand and Emporio Pastry, and the prizes of the card contest from the trenches will be delivered, in which many participating students of the school have shown an extraordinary sensitivity to denounce in a literary way the sadness and barbarism that always accompanies wars.
The cervantino entremés will be represented The judge of the divorces by a group of secondary of our center and the act will be completed with two spectacular musical performances also in charge of students of the School of Adults.
Adult education aims to improve society by improving people, and uses training as a tool;
a training that can not be only academic, but also experiential: doing, for a few hours, of literature and art an experience of life is the pretense that gives meaning to this act.
