Juan del Baño Penalva (Cieza, 1970) was unanimously elected new president of the Brotherhood of the Prayer of the Garden and Holy Sepulcher of Cieza, Los Dormis, in the course of the ordinary general assembly held by the brotherhood this past Friday.
He replaces Antonio Gómez Ruiz, president during the last term of office and who now assumes the position of vice president.
Del Baño Penalva, married to Candelaria Salmerón and father of two children, Juan and Pablo, the three brothers of Los Dormis, works as a guard at the Lorenzo Guirao Regional Hospital.
He will remain at the helm of the brotherhood for the next three years.
The new president belongs to a family in which the Brotherhood of the Prayer of the Garden and Holy Sepulcher has always been present;
not in vain has he shared and will also share during the period that is now open a directive with his brother Pedro, member of Charity, both sons of one of the historical people of the brotherhood, the Brother of Honor Francisco del Baño, who also exercised for years as a manager.
Juan del Baño Penalva has developed a long career in the governing bodies of Los Dormis.
He entered the board in 1986, at the age of 16, for which he has been a director for 33 years.
He began as head of the room of robes and staffs, later becoming treasurer and then vice president during the mandates of Diego Ortega 'Peperre', José Penalva and Antonio Gómez.
