Specifically, it would be the renovation project of the sanitation network in Avda. Of the Fixed Machine and the RM-B19 road, which has tendered Aguas de Cieza SA.
With the purpose of eliminating the bad odors coming from the Ascoy emissary, and that crosses our City until arriving at the treatment plant, different steps were taken from the Municipal Government, currently there are two necessary aspects that must be addressed.
On the one hand, the renovation of a part of the existing collector, which runs along the Fixed Machine Avenue and the RM-B19, and on the other hand the construction of a new collector layout in the Los Prados area.
The works that have already been awarded have begun with the opening of the work center, the signing of the stakeout act, and the collection tasks.
Given the high amount of this infrastructure, and taking into account that the competent Administration would be the Regional, from the Municipal Government it was managed with Aguas de Cieza SA in order to renew the 285 ml., Deficit and aged 800mm diameter section that runs by RM-B19 and with reduced capacity in Avda. del Rocío (urban area), preparing said infrastructure for the derivation from the pumping of Los Prados;
and expand the stretch of 87 ml.
that runs along the Avda. of the fixed Machine, going from 400 mm.
of diameter to 600 mm.
Once the contracting process has been carried out by the company Aguas de Cieza, SA, the works have been awarded for a total amount of € 193,637.54 (the basic bidding budget of € 376,872.17), to the company Construcciones Ruiz Alemán , SA.
It is planned that the works of the mentioned section of the collector can be completed in an approximate period of 2 months, and will come to mitigate to a large extent the serious problem of odors in this area, since it will reduce the residence time of the wastewater in the collectors until arrival at the WWTP.
On the other hand, and once the commitment by the CCAA in terms of the remaining section has been achieved, the City Council has already dispatched the permits and approved the corresponding project so that the works can be tendered publicly and in free competition, by the CARM, being expected that these may be fully completed next year.
Finally, from the Municipal Government the commitment to solve the problem of bad odors with the construction of the collector is reiterated, although it would be a competence of the Autonomous Community, so that if the Regional Government does not act responsibly , it will be the Local Administration that will finance the remaining part.
