The DANA left in Cieza situations of danger for the neighbors and important material damages in the public roads, natural places and municipal buildings the past days 12, 13 and 14 of September.
The City Council addressed this emergency situation to repair as soon as possible these damages caused by torrential rains.
This situation forced the session to take immediate action after the emergency situation was declared on the 16th of last month.
The municipal technicians prepared a list of works, supplies and services after the damage assessment.
A total of 40 jobs necessary to recover normalcy in the municipality, were carried out.
Among them, the withdrawal of reeds in bridges to facilitate the passage of water, actions in Ríos Gil Avenue, Asensao Bridge, and roads, the arrangement of the Municipal Shelter, the repair of the transformation center in the municipal sports center and cultural center, withdrawal sludge, and household goods, street cleaning, among others.
The City Council has carried out the arrangements of the affected areas in record time, although the natural and historical heritage has been the most damaged, such as the Medina Siyasa Site, and the river area due to its overflow.
Likewise, the cultivated fields have been others affected by this cold drop, since the land did not absorb the water as quickly as desired.
The Councilor for Finance Antonio Ignacio Martínez-Real says that "it has been necessary to make these expenses to repair the damages suffered by the DANA and thus overcome the emergency situation in which Cieza was plunged for several days" and commented on that "From the City Council we have already claimed from the consortium what is their responsibility to cover the expenses and that do not affect the municipal coffers, as well as the other administrations that will have to carry out the corresponding investments."
