Under the motto Christus vivit, the municipality of Cieza hosted this morning the XII Meeting of students of Catholic Religion, organized by the Delegation of Education, which has been attended by more than 2,000 students of 4th ESO and 1st Baccalaureate, from 40 training centers throughout the Region of Murcia.
"It has been a great day of conviviality in which young people have been able to see that neither those who attend Religion nor are crazy, but they are fun people with much to celebrate for knowing God," said José Luis Méndez, coordinator of Secondary Education in the Teaching Delegation.
This year, as a novelty, the young people have also been hosts, since the students of the Christ Crucified College of Cieza volunteered to guide the different centers that attended the meeting.
"The truth is that it has been a success, nobody has felt lost at any time and they have seen things accompanied by local people, who is always enriching," said Méndez.
The meeting began with an institutional event and the reception party that took place in the Plaza de España in Cieza.
Afterwards, the groups of students were able to carry out various programmed activities throughout the morning and afternoon in the city: visits to the museums of Esparto, Folklore, Easter Week and the Medina Siyasa Museum;
route to the Serreta Cave;
dances in the street;
tour of the Basilica Our Lady of the Assumption with ascent to the tower;
theatrical walk through the old town and the most significant places of the municipality, among many other activities.
In addition, students have also been able to enjoy a moment of prayer and encounter with the Apostolic Sisters of Christ Crucified, in the Hermitage Santo Cristo del Consuelo;
and with the Clarisas Sisters, in the Monastery of the Immaculate Conception.
