The City of Cieza has launched a service to eliminate and prevent abuse through the home telecare service.
The Department of Older Persons, of which Melba Miñano Bleda is delegated, has implemented this service for free with the municipal telecare service from which more than 200 elderly people in the municipality will benefit directly, with the aim of providing security and support to the users of the service.
One of the pillars of the service will be the work in the detection of situations of risk of any type of abuse, whether gender, domestic and elderly, among others.
The objective of the telecare service in situations of risk of abuse will be based mainly on prevention, detection and referral and coordination with the Consistory Social Services.
The service will offer support to users in two ways.
It involves monitoring the situation of the user through calls and home visits and using all the technology available in the service for their safety.
In the abuse prevention protocol, a series of actions will be developed to fulfill the purposes of prevention, detection and referral, intervention through a personalized action plan and evaluation and monitoring of the protocol.
Televida will also have a trained and specialized figure in the mistreatment of the elderly who will manage each of the cases detected.
For its part, the responsible councilor has stated that "it is a great step for Cieza to have this service that is launched for the first time and that it represents a very necessary protection measure to avoid cases of violence and eliminate this serious scourge" .
