The mayor of Bullas, María Dolores Muñoz Valverde (PSOE), is the new president of the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia (FMRM).
The governor was unanimously elected in the general assembly that this institution held last Friday at the Almudí Palace in Murcia to renew its governing bodies after the May 26 municipal elections.
The Socialist Party and the Popular Party have agreed to a joint candidacy of which the mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas Díaz, is part as a member along with the mayors of Beniel, Mari Carmen Morales;
Los Alcázares, Mario Pérez Cervera;
Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero, María Martínez Visitation of San Pedro del Pinatar, José Francisco García de Caravaca de la Cruz and Francisco Javier Andreo de Aledo.
The new president was unanimously elected, thus becoming the first woman in charge of this body.
It will have the mayors of Ulea and Lorca as vice presidents.
"With the presence of Pascual Lucas, Cieza has a voice in the Federation of Municipalities with greater force so that the councilor can ensure the interests of the city," said municipal sources.
