This is the purpose of the Police Day whose municipal agents act with the will to better serve Cieza.
There is no doubt that it is a success to celebrate such an act in a society less and less accustomed to valuing and applauding the efforts of others.
One more year, the City Council will include institutions, associations and people who would have excelled in exceptional actions and interventions, but without receiving the recognition they deserve.
The mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, and the inspector-chief of the Local Police, María José Hernández, have presented the central events scheduled for Police Day, which will be held on December 7 and 8.
In the last five years this institutional act that takes place in the Manuela Burló Moreno Hall of the Capitol Theater, at 1:00 p.m., seeks to recognize the work of professional careers and exceptional actions and interventions, in risk situations, beyond than is required in the normal performance of their duties.
In the same way, the same is done with volunteers and neighbors who are distinguished in a special way by their contribution in security, protection and citizen assistance in the municipality.
In the words of the councilor, "this day is already a day of thanks and recognition to police, volunteers and people whose performances are worthy of these distinctions. Therefore, this year we will show our gratitude and admiration to those who have participated in three episodes extraordinary: the search device of an old man disappeared last April, the action carried out in the fires that occurred in the summer and the rescue and help during the cold drop recorded in the month of September ".
And it is that in the memory the help and the help to the population by professionals and even people and associations that, spontaneously, offered their solidarity still remain fresh.
Both authorities have agreed to encourage neighbors to participate in the activity designed specifically for December 7 in the Plaza de España, an exhibition of the means used by the Local Police in their daily work.
The same exhibition will show citizens the different vehicles used by other police and emergency services belonging to the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard, Fire, Red Cross and Civil Protection.
Likewise, a traffic playground will be enabled in order to offer a didactic resource to support basic road education.
The circuit will have the elements of a public road and its corresponding signaling in which children can practice with bicycles and tricycles.
Half an hour before the institutional act of December 8, the staff of the Local Police along with members of the local groups of Civil Protection and the Spanish Red Cross will form at the gates of the police station and receive greetings from the mayor.
After reviewing the uniformed and listening to the Anthem of the Local Police of Cieza by the Municipal Music Band, the mayor and the rest of the authorities will go to the Capitol Theater.
The planned activities, which begin this Tuesday with a table tennis tournament in the Juan José Angosto Pavilion and will continue until Thursday with a guided route through the old town, include a shooting championship and a hiking trail.
