The Department of Women and Equal Opportunities reports the completion of the workshops aimed at ESO students in the prevention of gender violence and new masculinities in the IES Los Albares, Diego Tortosa and the Jaime Balmes concerted Secondary Education Center, which they have been financed by the funds of the state pact against gender violence.
The R-initia-T association has carried out the T-Question-Project this year in the second cycle of the Cieza Compulsory Secondary Education Centers, thanks to the good reception the experience had the previous year, in which this project It was developed in a more compressed way, seeing the need this year to complete it in the aforementioned centers of the town.
This is a broad activity developed in collaboration with the CAVI de Cieza and the General Directorate of Women and Gender Diversity of the Ministry of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy of the CARM, being financed with funds from the Covenant of State against Gender Violence.
The workshops held consist of 6 sessions each, the first one is carried out jointly, and the following intervention modules separated by gender to meet the different needs that exist between boys and girls in relation to the problem of violence gender, undoing preconceived ideas and concepts and working on the most important psychological aspects involved in this problem.
The sessions have started with a small introductory talk about the concepts to be discussed and the bulk of the sessions have been directed towards students generating their own opinions interactively, proactively seeking answers and solutions, providing them with the information and tools for a satisfactory resolution in each of the treated areas.
It has worked so that the students themselves have been the ones who have generated their responses, thus making the changes produced in the students more lasting and stable.
In the intervention, the groups have been separated by gender, to meet the specific needs of each gender in this type of problem, with each psychologist dealing with each gender.
The feedback received from the different HEIs and their teaching and management teams has been very positive, the teachers and students liked it very much, highlighting the need to continue with this type of projects to fight this scourge of the present from the base, education , and commenting in some cases, that they found the intervention short.
