The European Projects Department holds the first meeting of key agents of the E-MOB project to lead Cieza towards electric mobility.
The City Council won a grant to carry out this plan that will modernize the city and serve to fight climate change.
The City of Cieza held a few days ago the first meeting of key agents for electric mobility within the framework of the E-MOB project 'Integrated actions to improve electric mobility in the regions of Europe', co-financed by ERDF funds through the European Program Interreg Europe
The Department of European Projects, for which María Jesús López Moreno is responsible, coordinates this project in which the City of Cieza participates with 8 other European partners, led by the Project Agency of the region of Leipzig (Germany).
"This project aims to identify best practices at European level to develop a framework of action policies and a roadmap that manages to develop electric mobility in the municipality in an optimal way," said Lopez.
The mayor has also added that "this project is another step towards modernization and transformation to which we are leading Cieza with a clear implication and concern in the care of our environment."
To achieve the objective, a regional group of key agents has been established in which different actors can contribute their knowledge on the integration of electric mobility in cities from different points of view.
This working group will be fundamental for the success of the project, and decisive in the solutions and measures that the municipality of Cieza adopts during its course.
The call was attended by agents from different areas, from the public administration to the private company, in order to provide a complete vision that encompasses the whole society.
Among the participants in the meeting were the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) in conjunction with the UPCT Solar Team, the Local Energy Agency of Murcia (GERM), Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia (FMRM), Association Business for the Development and Promotion of Electric Mobility (AEDIVE), Regional Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs of Murcia (FREMM), Electric Sun Mobility cooperative and the companies Esfera Solar SL and ElectricVehicles, as well as representatives of the City Council of Cieza and the consultant EuroVértice, which collaborates with Cieza in the development of the project.
During the meeting, the importance of walking towards electric mobility was highlighted clearly and urgently, "as it is a fundamental pillar in the fight against climate change and air pollution," and possible solutions were provided that the municipality of Cieza can adopt, both for the impulse of the private car, and for the promotion of low power electric mobility, such as the use of the scooter or the bike.
