The Second Conference of Scientific Dissemination of Cieza continued its path with a firm step.
They established themselves in multiple locations, challenged the convening power of other cultural activities and turned their backs on easy proposals.
In Arte-Sano, Abrevadero de Patos, El Patio de Nicolás, the Padre Salmerón Municipal Library and the Siyâsa Museum, the program acquired height throughout this week.
Of course, not everything is always scientific dissemination.
The climax was put on Saturday the second edition of the Scientific and Technological Fair in the Plaza de España, where the event was uncovered again as a fruitful work between the University of Murcia and the City of Cieza in order to popularize the knowledge society .
To get an idea of the formidable commitment of the University of Murcia and the City of Cieza is carrying out with the dissemination of science there is no better way than the second edition of the Scientific and Technological Fair.
After five intense days, the II Conference of Scientific Disclosure of Cieza culminated this Saturday in the Plaza de España with a large influx of public.
"We are frankly happy with the generous response that people have had this second year with the scientific and technological fair," said the Councilor for Education, Maria Ramos, while taking stock of this edition that is already history.
"It has been impressive to see how the conferences and scheduled activities aroused interest among the public," the municipal official added, later acknowledging that "there is no doubt that this initiative promoted between the Permanent Headquarters of University Extension of Cieza and the City Council of the city is a success. "
So much so that after two editions this activity has managed to consolidate in the February agenda.
In a waste of effort the organizers made science and technology known among the general public and the young person in particular.
Such was his effort to convey this concern for the knowledge society that even Onda Cieza broadcast a live program presented by María Luisa Ortiz.
The efforts of its promoters were directed with special interest to discover and spread what we could call as science for all, trying to make accessible the research projects of universities, public institutions, and secondary schools.
Perhaps there has been no activity at Cieza like the scientific and technological fair preceded by such interest.
Judging by the great social expectation registered during the conference, it would be said that those responsible had organized it with conviction to put a finishing touch on a week full of activities.
So the stands, open from ten in the morning until seven in the afternoon and attended voluntarily by professors, students and researchers, hid many surprises.
And, as part of the activities with the same purpose, there were two meetings with Francisca Moya del Baño, retired professor of Latin Philology, and Amparo Cano García, professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Autonomous University of Madrid.
A very entertaining talk-show was also very interesting under the title 'Vibrating people understand', by the professor of Physics at the University of Murcia, Antonio Guirao Piñera.
Another proposal that caught the attention of the public of all ages was a dissertation, full of spectacle, about mathematics, which was conducted by José Santiago García, Professor of Statistics at the Miguel Hernández University.
In the exhibitors there was everything: from physics experiments for all ages and economy games to demonstrations by students of the Diego Tortosa and Los Albares institutes.
It was also a success the exhibition of final degree projects and master final projects that have been prepared by university students of Cieza.
The local presence was completed with two stands of the Association of Businessmen and Industrialists of Cieza and Alfaqueque Ediciones.
The mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, invited to enjoy the "extraordinary" outdoor initiative that, according to his words, "has prepared the University of Murcia, become a technological partner of this City Council thanks to the close collaboration we maintain with this academic institution, "and underlined the value of science and technology in an advanced society.
And nowadays, nobody doubts that science is the key to changing the way of life and transforming the way the world has been moved so far.
During his visit to the exhibitors the councilor was accompanied by the Vice Chancellor for Employment, Entrepreneurship and Information Society of the University of Murcia, Alicia Rubio, and the director of the Permanent Headquarters of University Extension in Cieza, María Semitiel.
The director of the Permanent Venues of the University of Murcia, Mercedes Bernabé, and the Councilors of Education and Youth of the City Council of Cieza, María Ramos and Marta Sánchez, respectively, also attended the opening of the fairgrounds.
