Its coordinator in Cieza, Francisco Saorín, remembers that Murcia has reached a financial debt of 10,000 million and a regional deficit of 246 million in 2019.
In line with the information published by the organization of Finance Technicians (Gestha) criticizing the fiscal policy of the regional government, which has been selling tax breaks for years as great achievements of the Community despite the critical situation in which he finds, the coordinator of IU-Greens in Cieza, Francisco Saorín, has affirmed that "the indebtedness of the Region is due to the fact that the rights give up that those who have more pay taxes."
In a press release, Saorín has stressed that forgiving the inheritance tax to those who paid it, the wealthiest, the Region has stopped receiving about 240 million, so taking into account that the regional deficit is 246 million, the red numbers of the autonomous community are a direct consequence of a regressive fiscal policy that dismantles "the allegation that Murcia is a battered community" that "would be better financed if it did not abolish taxes".
Also the leader of IU-Verdes has mentioned that Murcia is the autonomous community that is most delayed in paying bills, which pays after 76 days, which has led to the intervention of the accounts by the Ministry of the Treasury, which will now be responsible for paying the supplier companies.
Saorín recalled that the Treasury technicians have made it clear that without the suppression of the Inheritance Tax "the Community would be entering between 200 and 240 million more per year", which would allow it to balance the deficit or, at least, be in a closer position to the other regions. "
Likewise, Saorín has warned that the strategic sense of the tax cuts that have been carried out by the rights in Murcia that harm the great social majority, while the rich increase their wealth by paying less taxes, through privatization of services that the reduction of public spending causes and due to the growth of the public debt that this tax reduction generates.
Finally, the coordinator of IU-Greens in Cieza has affirmed that fiscal justice is needed so that those who have more, more pay, and thus have quality public services that improve people's lives;
the opposite of what PP and Cs have been doing with the support of Vox in Murcia.
