The agricultural organizations have called a demonstration through the streets of Murcia on February 21 to "channel" the "deep discontent" of farmers and ranchers by the "borderline situation" and "unsustainable" generated by the low prices of their products.
Before this call, on the morning of Tuesday they met at the City Council of Cieza, headed by Mayor Pascual Lucas, members of the municipal government, members of the agricultural organizations, the association of merchants and the association of hoteliers of Cieza, with in order to share the concern of farmers for their situation that affects the entire economic fabric of Cieza and in order to show support for the claims that everyone considers fair and that merchants and hoteliers share and support.
During the morning of Friday, while the farmers are going to demonstrate in Murcia, the shops and hoteliers of Cieza will close their doors for half an hour to support the sector.
In the same way, the mayor of Cieza Pascual Lucas, has called an extraordinary plenary session to show the support of the corporation to the demands of the farmers.
"At a delicate moment for the sector, it is essential that the people of Cieza support one of the pillars of their economy, and from the City Council we will not skimp on efforts to do so," said the mayor.
