A bright and bonancible afternoon, with a slightly almost spring breeze, was the perfect setting for the neighborhoods of the city of Cieza to be added this Friday for the first time to the project Flowering in an act, called 'Neighborhoods in bloom', in which the Dance and recycling awareness played a leading role.
The City Council of Cieza, with the presence of the mayor, Pascual Lucas, and councilors Conchi Villa, Marta Sánchez, Antonio Moya and Melba Miñano, announced an initiative whose objective was to take the flowering project to four neighborhoods of the city, so that the neighbors lived the experience in first person and participated in the programmed activities.
The Councilors for Citizen Participation and Youth, Conchi Villa and Marta Sánchez, respectively, were responsible for activating 'Neighborhoods in bloom' involving the neighborhood associations of Santa Clara, San Juan Bosco, San José Obrero and San Joaquín in the beautification of streets and squares
To this welcome to the flowering the Department of Culture that Melba Miñano directs with the collaboration of the six dance academies of the municipality was added.
The activity consisted of a beautification contest of the participating neighborhoods that was launched in order to contribute to the improvement of the aesthetics of the municipality through citizen involvement.
The contest valued the overall set of ornamentation and use of recycled materials, as well as originality and aesthetics.
Four prizes of 400, 300, 200 and 100 euros were awarded.
The floral pilgrimage began in Santa Clara and continued in San Juan Bosco, San José Obrero and San Joaquín, where the official inauguration of Flowering 2020 took place.
