Its coordinator in Cieza, Francisco Saorín, highlights the "more than 100 measures to regulate the publicity of the bets and the game presented by the minister Alberto Garzón".
Last Friday, the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Alberto Garzón, presented the Project for the Royal Decree of Commercial Communications for Game Activities, which involves more than 100 measures aimed at game operators.
And it is that the minister of IU has before him a historical challenge: the fight against the scourge of gambling that in recent years has become a public health problem with the proliferation of bookmakers, especially in neighborhoods most popular, and the exponential increase in online gaming.
In a press release, the coordinator of IU-Greens in Cieza, Francisco Saorín, has assessed as "a milestone" the measures, because "never before proceeded to develop the Law of the Game in this way, or to put a hand to the game advertising. "
Francisco Saorín believes that the decree - which Garzón presented at a press conference this Friday and contains 100 measures - will change "99% of gaming advertising" and stresses that it is the first time that a government regulates this sector.
Saorín has stressed that "the messages that link the game with personal and social success have the days counted, while television commercials and radio spots may not be starred by celebrities and influencers."
"This change in the messages will also affect Lotteries and ONCE. The Directorate General for Game Management will be the body responsible for ensuring that these conditions are met in the ads and, where appropriate, to fine offenders with penalties that will start at 100,000 euros and may reach, in case of recidivism, up to 50 million and even at the close of the business, "explained the leader of IU-Greens.
On the other hand, Saorín has stressed that this decree is nothing more than the beginning, a starting point, and that later on, it will be possible to advance on the issue of schedules, restrict or modify them, ensuring that it is a step forward to "take response to a growing social demand to establish regulations for gaming activity, to prevent addictive behaviors, to protect vulnerable groups. "
Finally, the coordinator of IU-Verdes de Cieza stressed that, above all, the main objectives of the decree are "protection of minors and guaranteeing the general interest".
