Given the dissemination of messages, photographs and audios that appeared on social networks in recent days in relation to the incidence of the Covid-19 coronavirus in our city and due to the severity of the distribution of said content, from the Cieza City Council we communicate:
1.- That the only verified and reliable information is that provided by institutions and authorities that is occasionally offered by official channels and local media.
2.- That the making, diffusion or propagation of false news, hoaxes, images or falsification of documents constitutes a very serious crime that carries from heavy administrative sanctions to prison terms.
3.-That the authorities of the Corps and State Security Forces competent in this type of crime have already been transferred to start the pertinent investigations into some hoaxes spread by social and mobile networks.
4.- From the Cieza City Council we again appeal to everyone's responsibility, not only with hygiene measures, social distancing and home confinement, but also with the responsible use of social networks, not spreading hoaxes, photos or messages not contrasted or from unofficial sources.
These can harm people and further increase fear-mongering and uncertainty, causing undesirable acts at this time.
