Information on the moratorium on the mortgage debt for the acquisition of habitual residence, provided for in Royal Decree-Law 8/2020, of March 17, on extraordinary urgent measures to face the economic and social impact of those affected by COVID -19.
A moratorium is foreseen in the payment of mortgage-backed loans for the acquisition of the habitual residence, which may be requested from the mortgagee (bank with which the loan is signed) from March 19, 2020 until fifteen days after the end of the validity of Royal Decree-Law 8/2020, or its extension.
Those affected may contact the bank with which the mortgage loan is signed to manage the request for the moratorium.
In order to publicize the content of the measures to face the economic and social impact of COVID-19, with regard to the moratorium on the mortgage debt for the acquisition of habitual residence, the City Council makes available to residents of Start a telephone service, attended by the municipal legal services, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (for information on the most relevant aspects in the management of the moratorium request:
