We have recently seen a Vox Cieza statement, creating confusion about a delicate situation and issuing falsehoods.
And all this with the intention of wearing down the Local Government and what is more serious, with a clear xenophobic intention.
From Social Services we want to clarify what happened on Saturday, April 11, 2020 in emergencies of the Hospital de la Vega Lorenzo Guirao de Cieza.
The events were developed as follows:
A citizen who has been in a confinement situation since March 25 within the program managed by the Cieza City Council in collaboration with the Red Cross as a result of the COVID 19 for people "homeless", began to feel chest pain, so he was referred to the emergency department of the Vega de Lorenzo Guirao de Cieza Hospital for a medical examination.
After the aforementioned examination, her diagnosis was respiratory infection, without fever or cough.
The physician making the report understands that when presenting the first symptom mentioned, the patient should enter the program applied to "possible cases of COVID 19".
The decision of the Hospital is to give you an appointment to undergo the corresponding test according to protocol, since this person lives with 8 other people in an exceptional situation, in addition to volunteers and workers and it is necessary that as soon as possible they know each other with the greatest possible certainty the real situation of the same, in order to apply by the City Council the appropriate measures to avoid creating a focus of contagion in the place where said person is currently sharing space with other users of the program.
All the actions have been carried out by the Cieza Hospital staff, in accordance with health protocols and without any dependency on the Local Administration, as it cannot be otherwise.
In turn, the City Council has acted urgently and preventively to prevent a possible spread of the virus.
Finally, the test result has been negative in coronavirus.
We thank the Hospital de la Vega Lorenzo Guirao de Cieza for the attention and care it had with both the patient and the technician who accompanied him that night, as well as the effort of all its workers in the fight against this pandemic.
From the city council we punish the dissemination of false information, generating with its manipulative attitude aversion among citizens and questioning the management of this health crisis by the City of Cieza.
In these moments we appeal for unity and leave aside the search for political "reward" in a situation as serious as this, in which lives are being lost.
Finally, we remind our neighbors to continue taking precautionary measures, and that we are in the phase of defeating a virus that does not understand ideologies, territories, or borders or races.
