Municipal sources of the City of Cieza report that the Government of the Nation publishes an order that regulates the access of the population to these pharmaceutical products at "non-abusive" and "informed" prices.The Official State Gazette (BOE) published last Sunday a ministerial order establishing exceptional measures to guarantee access by the population to the recommended products for the prevention of contagion by the Coronavirus, such as face masks, gloves and hydroalcoholic gels.

.In a press release, the Councilor for Consumer Affairs of the Cieza City Council, Francisco Saorín, has declared that, with this measure, "the PSOE-UP coalition government wants to establish sufficient guarantees so that citizens can access, in an informed and in non-abusive economic conditions, to certain protection products against the spread of the coronavirus.

""The purpose of this order," says Saorín, "is to establish the procedure for setting the maximum amount of retail sale of medical devices, as well as those products necessary for the protection of population health; determine the information that must be established in labeling of hygienic masks and defining the conditions under which a unitary sale to the public of surgical masks that are not individually packaged can be carried out.

""The products that must comply with this measure are hygienic masks, healthy skin antiseptics authorized by the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products and hydroalcoholic gels and solutions for hands and other products that are considered essential to minimize the risk of the spread of the virus among people, "points out the mayor of Consumption.Saorín recalled that "State intervention to stop the price increase of certain services as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic has already been launched with the case of certain funeral homes that rose with no other purpose than economic profit.

In this sense has specified that the intervention with the sanitary material is more complex because they are products, in most cases, from other countries (China, Germany and the USA), which is where speculation is taking place in the face of the increase global demand.

"Likewise, the councilor has insisted that "it is important that the rule combines economic rationality with common sense, which leads to the fact that the Government cannot be allowed to make extraordinary aid, which is known as 'social shield', so that families have an income and that a part of this income has to be used at an exorbitant price of medical devices ".Finally, Saorín has referred to the recent statements of the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Alberto Garzón, who has specified that "the standard is open to other sanitary or semi-sanitary products", insisting that it is necessary to differentiate between products manufactured in other countries and nationals, but taking into account that in the international ones there are also national distributors.
