| According to Podemos-Cieza | Given the social effects of the pandemic, "a progressive and inclusive way out of this crisis requires financing and social support"The expansion of the Covid-19 in Spain has forced to adopt tough protection measures in the context of the state of alarm decreed by the Government of the nation, as has also happened in other states.
Measures that have already had serious economic effects, for example in terms of unemployment or closure of companies, but have not yet been felt in all their intensity.
The economic and social crisis, although difficult to quantify in its scope, will surely be of important dimensions, even devastating.
For this reason, it is not an exaggeration to speak of the need for a process of economic reconstruction of the nation, as the President of the Government has repeatedly done in recent times. In the opinion of Piedad Abellán, secretary general of Podemos-Cieza, "once we have passed the worst of the health crisis, the priority for all should be the economic reconstruction of the country on a solidarity basis." If we do not want the budding economic crisis to end up tragically impoverishing the less favored social sectors, "it will be necessary to have a state intervention of great intensity in the economy to guarantee the maintenance of social rights for the entire population"; in fact, the government has already taken many measures in this direction, "but we will have to go much further or the situation may end up being unsustainable, if we want to articulate a way out of the progressive crisis, in which those who have the most pay the most, and inclusive, shelter everyone and leave no one in the way.
" According to Piedad, "an economic and social reconstruction after the destruction caused by the global pandemic requires two key factors: financing and political unity; if either one fails, it will fail and the suffering will be generalized." Financing is a difficult problem, in a context of falling tax collection due to the crisis, and "the liberal dogmas of austerity and, in part, of budgetary balance will have to be abandoned; the priority must be the people, and there will be than to take on the necessary indebtedness, with or without the support of Europe.
" But financing alone will not suffice: "In Podemos we are clear: the only way is political unity, because without a great pact of State for the reconstruction it will be very difficult to advance towards horizons where poverty and pain do not wait for us ". For this reason, "the representatives of United We Can in the national Government, as well as their parliamentarians, have supported without fissures, from minute one, the proposal for a national agreement for economic and social reconstruction; and I know that they will give up their lives for to get it".
Also in the territorial areas, and especially in the Autonomous Communities, which have many competences and spending capacity, "a pact is essential, and the United-Podemos parliamentary group has already requested it in the Murcia Regional Assembly" .
And also in the municipalities "it would be appreciated a minimal political agreement in matters of this importance."
