The municipality of Cieza has joined the European initiative of the Covenant of Mayors for climate and energy, endorsing the European 2030 objectives to combat climate change and adapt the municipality to this new meteorological scenario.The preparation of the PACES is part of the European project Compete4SECAP, through which the Eurovértice consultancy supports the Spanish cities involved.This project is led by the departments of European Projects and Strategic Planning, Environment and Citizen Participation.Municipal technicians and representatives of the different sectoral councils of Cieza are part of the working group created for this purpose, although now, through a simple survey, all citizens are transferred to make them participate directly in the process.This new challenge represents a further step for the municipality of Cieza in its fight against climate change, affirm municipal sources, who explain that the contributions of citizens will be of great value in decision-making for the drafting of this committed project.
