A municipal statement from the City of Cieza indicates that, while in the region of Murcia as a whole and in the rest of the country, unemployment figures have increased considerably during this terrible pandemic that we are suffering, the unemployment data in the city have shown a significant drop during the months of March, April and May."Cieza is in a good moment of improvement in terms of employment.
The unemployment data for the month of May again record a significant recovery with the decrease in the number of unemployed compared to the previous month, becoming, together with May 2019 and by second consecutive year, in the best data registered in this month since 2008.
"This May, "the number of unemployed people in our town has decreased by 130 people, both men and women, in all age groups and in all sectors (-11 in industry and 18 in construction), being those of agriculture (-33) and services (-64) those that have contributed to generating a greater number of jobs ", indicates Antonio Moya, councilor for Employment and Economic Development.The growth of unemployment in the Region of Murcia has been 6.34% and 7.97% in the rest of the country.
However, Cieza has established itself as a national benchmark in job creation since the declaration of this pandemic by COVID-19 according to technical reports that are periodically prepared by the Chair of Competitiveness of the College of Economists, UMU and UPCT.
