The First Comic Contest organized by the Cieza Council for Children and Adolescents already has a winner.
12-year-old Inés Ruiz Martínez, schooled at the San José Obrero School in Cieza, has won the award in the 9-12 Category.
While the prize of the Category of 13-16 has been deserted.The mayor, Pascual Lucas, and the head of education, María Ramos Batres, attended the award ceremony.Inés' work has been chosen because she has been able to express in a precise way, both in the drawing and in the story, "the before and after the coronavirus", through a story closely linked to our city, the flowering of Cieza.The jury has highlighted the quality of the works presented, although they have not been many, and encourages young creators to continue participating and contributing their creations because it is a good way to culture with drawing and writing.The jury was made up of José Carrasco, professor of Spanish Language and Literature and director of the IES Diego Tortosa; Mariano Rojas, professor of Plastic and Visual Education at the IES Diego Tortosa; Ana Mª Salmerón, professor of Spanish Language and Literature at IES Los Albares; Mª Piedad García, teacher of Spanish Language and Literature at the Jaime Balmes School, Mª Pilar Martínez, comic writer and English teacher at the Juan Ramón Jiménez School; María Semitiel, professor at the University of Murcia and director of the UMU Permanent Headquarters in Cieza; María Ramos, councilor for Education, and Mª Rosario Salmerón, education and childhood technician and coordinator of the Council for Children and Adolescents in Cieza.
