The Councilor for Education of the City of Cieza, María Ramos, presents a motion before the Plenary on Monday to urge the Ministry to clarify some points at the beginning of the course that, in her opinion, "are still in the air.""After a very hard end of the course for the educational community, where a change occurred in the distance learning system whose weight fell on teachers, management teams, families and students, we need the Ministry to provide certainty and security to families and teachers in this new course ", explains Ramos. At this time, adds the statement, "it would have been logical for the Ministry of Education to have focused its efforts on planning the next course to avoid offering improvisation again, I hope there are still many questions to be resolved."In his opinion, "the educational centers in Czezan do not have the ratio teachers that other years were already assigned to the schools at this time, the ratio per classroom has not decreased, nor is the date for hiring the additional personnel announced, nor the criteria for allocation to centers ".In this sense, he assures that the families "are very concerned because they do not know if the hygiene and safety measures published will be sufficient to avoid contagion."In the words of the councilor, "teachers and management teams find themselves with many doubts and uneasiness when conceiving the regional government a return to the classrooms practically in normal conditions.
Without considering any double, nor considerable increase in staff, nor special measures for personnel risky".In this sense, he explains, "the Government of Spain has indeed approved the disposition of COVID-19 Funds, including the distribution of 2 billion euros in lost funds between the Autonomous Communities for Education, the launch of the Educa program in Digital in which it will invest 260 million euros for the digitization of educational centers and for the acquisition of 500,000 computer equipment that can be loaned to students in vulnerable situations, as well as a further increase in the budget for scholarships and study grants of the last decade.
"For all this, "from the municipal government they request the Ministry to complement the funds of the central Government with an extraordinary endowment in order to face the start of the course with all the guarantees.
Likewise, they call on the Ministry to reduce the ratios in order to respect the minimum security measures recommended by the health authorities and collaborate with the Cieza City Council to defray the expenses derived from the necessary expansion of the cleaning service ".In the same way, "from the municipal government we have assumed competences that are not ours and we have anticipated many of the necessary actions such as the advancement of the dining room scholarships and their expansion during vacation periods, weekends and holidays, the provision of hygiene materials, the implementation of a home and primary homework system, posters and stickers for centers, among others, but we cannot continue to bear this burden without help.
Thus, we reach out to Ministry of Education and we invite you to improve communication with local administrations in order to achieve the maximum benefit for our citizens.
