Neighborhood organization, participation, tourism promotion, dance or street decoration.
All these areas can have a common point that moves a city forward: creativity.
This was revealed with the award ceremony of the 'Barrios en flor' contest, which, organized by the councils of Citizen Participation, Youth and Culture within the Floración tourism project, provided this Thursday an injection of motivation in the midst of the health crisis. The act left in the Gabriel Celaya Auditorium a vibrant and mighty evening artistically speaking, with the choreographies of four dance academies in the town.
The members of the All Dance Group, Gimnasio En Forma, María Lucas Professional Dance Center and Charo Trigueros Dance School have had to wait for five months to reconnect with the public after their performance in the welcome of the Floración 2020 tourist project and, above all, was filled with an urgent need for good dancing. At the awards ceremony, which was presented by Conchi Piñera, Mayor Pascual Lucas highlighted that this act is the "show of gratitude" of the City Council for the contribution of the neighborhood associations that made the city an embellished place during the tourist project Flowering.
"Today the result of this collaboration is being awarded, which contributes to the development of Floración, an event in which companies, associations and entities have wanted to join together to make this project even bigger, which has already become essential for the economy of Cieza" .During the event, in addition to the presidents of the four awarded neighborhood associations, the members of the jury, composed of the artists José Semitiel Segura and José Víctor Villalba and the councilors of Citizen Participation and Youth, Conchi Villa and Marta Sánchez , respectively.
The Barrio de Santa Clara won the first prize endowed with 400 euros, while the second corresponded to San José Obrero, with 300 euros, an amount that was donated to the City Council for social purposes by the Covid-19.In the same way, the neighborhood associations of San Juan Bosco and San Joaquín received symbolically their check that accredits them as winners of the third and fourth place, which carry a financial contribution of 200 and 150 euros respectively.
The person in charge of this last association took the stage accompanied by the queen of the parties.
In an evening taken care of in detail by the organization, the presenter also alluded to the collaboration of two other participating dance academies that were not present, those directed by Lola Navas and Nora Bernal. It should be remembered that the City Council unveiled an initiative that intended to bring Floración to four neighborhoods of the city, so that the residents could experience the experience firsthand and be participants in the programmed activities.
For this, Citizen Participation and Youth promoted 'Barrios en flor' with the aim of involving the neighborhood associations of Santa Clara, San Juan Bosco, San José Obrero and San Joaquín in the beautification of streets and squares.
To welcome the flowering, the Department of Culture joined, which involved the dance academies.
