47 works with names and surnames conceived during confinement (21/08/2020)

Any cultural or artistic act carried out within the walls of the Siyâsa Museum magnifies its significance.

It is a cultural imprimatur, a way of saying: this matters.

And it is not only the goal of archeology lovers.

It is also a destination for the arts, popularization and music.

It is a place that the neighbors visit regularly.

It is logical that its rooms host all kinds of activities.

The essence of this building is to help visitors who walk through its doors understand that the content gives a museum its identity.

If on May 18 it became the first space in the Region of Murcia to receive the first visitors with a meeting with Álvaro Peña, on the occasion of Museum Day, now, the municipal institution has gone a little further. The Siyâsa has just inaugurated the first collective exhibition of the recently constituted Association of Artists of Cieza.Created in the backwaters of the daily bustle during confinement, the works of forty-seven artists are presented under the title 'Confinados', with an aesthetic consistent with these times of individual responsibility and social distance marked by the pandemic.

There, within the walls of the three rooms of the museum, the creations of the members of this association make their debut in an initiative that combines the efforts of artists, who practice different styles, who work to carry out projects without, therefore, losing their identity or authorship.

One of the things that attracts attention is precisely the absence of a prominent painter.

There are, of course, artists with a greater presence and continuity in their public career, along with others who have lavished a little less,But when you look at the whole now, you can see the diversity of contemporary art.The exhibition sponsored by the Department of Museums is an example of the city's gratitude for the contribution of the artists who make Cieza a place of artistic and cultural reference in the Region of Murcia.

And he does it in a municipal facility that was born with a double vocation.

On the one hand, a place that had to become a museum space capable of encouraging knowledge of the history of Cieza, of preserving its archaeological and ethnographic legacy.

But on the other hand, since its inception in 1998, the museum's management was aware that only by diversifying its interests could it become a true cultural container in which other disciplines converge that could contribute to showing the complexity of today's culture.

And it is that its opening responded to the positioning of a society in front of culture. The new association has great artists from whose hands brilliant creations are born.

Each of its components has, at least, one great reason to appear in this exhibition: their ability to fill confinement with art.

They are Lisón, Antonio Moreno Marín, Isabel Rodríguez, Aurora Montoya, Ernesto Gil Marí, José Luís Rojas, Antonio Ortega, María Sal, Ana Tudela, Felisa Gómez Santos, Ana Buitrago, Lorena Martínez, Sánchez Dato, Marga Manzano, Pedro Sánchez , Vanessa Rojas Camacho, José Alejandro Verdejo, Buitrago Puche, Mariano Rojas Marín, Ana Guirao Sánchez, Manuel López, José Ato, J.

de Patarato, Pascual Lucas Motellón, Ángeles Sáez, Savaz, José Víctor Villalba, Paco Mas, Andrés López, Tete Lucas, María Bernal, José Antonio Hellín, Miriam Martínez Abellán, Pedro Camacho & Superarte SA, Ana Almela Lucas, Rosa Campos,José Antonio Lucas, Antonia Fernández, Jesús Moreno, Antonio Martínez Villa, Campos, Juan Bautista Fernández, Carlos Jesús Saorín Sánchez, Valeria Martínez, Rafael Torres, Pedro Antonio Marín Penalva and Fernando Puche. The pre-opening of the exhibition took place this Thursday afternoon on the terrace of the Padre Salmerón Municipal Library, and the visit that, for reasons of social distance and limited capacity - those implacable security measures that govern our existence - remained on the program.

It was carried out in groups of thirty people.

At full speed, each group spent only ten minutes in the rooms in order to ensure the safety of the visitors.

In turns, the entrance took place through the main door of the museum, on Calle San Sebastián, while the exit was through the one that gives access to Calle Hontana.

As of August 21 and until September 13, visits will be organized with more flexible schedules, but safeguarding the security measures governed by health authorities due to the pandemic. The Councilors for Museums and Culture, Conchi Villa and Melba Miñano, respectively, shared their way back to the museum with the president of the Association of Artists of Cieza, María Joaquina Sánchez, and the curator of the exhibition, Joaquín Salmerón.

They were also accompanied by the veteran painter Pedro Avellaneda, named honorary member of the association, and between jokes and truths, everyone ended up praising the exhibition 'Confinados'.

It is the launch of an association that was born to contribute to the promotion of the plastic arts and to promote artistic creation, combining the necessary initiatives so that they are cultivated in freedom and permanent improvement.

The forty-seven protagonists of this collective had plenty of reasons to be happy.

It was an inauguration of good sensations, something that those who attended the event could also experience.
