Being already close to starting the last quarter of the year, from the execution of the 2020 Budget there is an increase in the items of employment and cleaning, both on the streets and in parks and gardens or schools.
As an example, the social employment program will start shortly, which has multiplied its budget by five, or the reinforcement of cleaning in schools due to the pandemic, which will mean approximately 150,000 Euros per year. The Councilor for the Treasury, Antonio Ignacio Martínez-Real, reminded us that this could have been possible by not including in the 2020 budgets items for parties such as those of the coat of arms, those of the Neighborhoods or subsidies such as those of the Folklore Festival, as well as the considerable reduction in the subsidy received by the Board of Brotherhoods, among others.
Thus, from the moment the 2020 budgets were approved, the forecasts were adapted to the real situation we had in which, obviously, mass events were not going to be held, which has allowed to increase spending on employment as well as in cleaning.
Likewise, also with items from celebrations it has been possible to increase spending on subsidies for young university students or to repair the roof of the San José Obrero School. Finally, Antonio Ignacio Martínez-Real concluded by mentioning the priorities of this Government focused on the fight against the virus, reinforcing disinfection and cleaning of the city, as well as on the creation of employment and reactivation of the economy.
