The Absenteeism Commission held a meeting this Monday, called by the departments of Education and Social Services, which was attended by its holders, María Ramos and Melba Miñano, respectively, as well as directors of educational centers, the education inspector of the Cieza area, representatives of the diversity service of the Ministry of Education and staff from both councils.At the meeting, the absenteeism situation in the town and the measures to be adopted to alleviate the situation were addressed.
The circumstance of some families that take advantage of the pandemic to not take their children to school was pointed out.In this regard, specifically in Primary, it was announced that an absenteeism file will be opened to anyone who does not have a vulnerability report from the doctor regarding the child in question or the family member.It was also agreed to ask the counseling to speed up the resolution that regulates home care (which will be online) to be able to give a prompt educational response to students who are in a vulnerable situation and are not attending school or institute for it.
It was also decided to request computer equipment so that those families who do not have these resources can receive this assistance.Finally, it was made clear that it will work closely with the absenteeism group of the Red Infancia Cieza, Education, Social Services, Police and Attention to Diversity to coordinate actions on absenteeism and raise awareness among the families of the importance of attending the educational center if they are not in a vulnerable situation.
