The Municipal Disability Commission of Cieza proposed to the Autonomous Community for the "2020 Awards" that the award be destined to Ana Martínez, social worker of the "Tocaos del Ala" Association.He also considered that, whether or not the award was awarded from the Autonomous Community, Ana deserved special recognition from her city, as a person and professional who worked and fought to give the place that corresponds to people with disabilities in Cieza.On the occasion of Disability Day, this December 3, the Autonomous Community recognizes and publicly distinguishes the work of those individuals, institutions, social entities and other legal entities that have distinguished themselves by their contribution to the social inclusion of people with disability, through the "Disability Awards of the Region of Murcia".The Municipal Commission's proposal for these Awards has been supported by a large number of professionals from other Associations, from FAMDIF and from professors from the University of Murcia, finally obtaining this well-deserved award from Ana Martínez posthumously.Regarding the second proposal, Pascual Lucas, mayor of Cieza, and Melba Miñano, councilor for Social Policies, will present this award to Martínez's family.Ana Martínez, has stood out for her career and achievements in the world of disability, leaving an indelible mark on people with disabilities for whom she has fought so hard, as well as on her colleagues for their great professionalism and for their closeness, and among the citizens in general, who have known how to recognize their valuable work during all these years.
