The Department of Women and Equal Opportunities of the City Council of Cieza reports on the impact and great impact on the municipality of the campaign #Cieza in march against gender violence # carried out this year on the occasion of November 25, International Day of the Elimination of Violence against Women.Among the activities of this campaign, it is worth highlighting the distribution of posters in the shops of Cieza, radio programs, placement of a symbolic bench in memory of the victims and, as a rejection of this social scourge, the 44 chairs that were installed in the square from Spain with a purple ribbon in memory of the fatalities murdered during 2020 as well as the organization and dissemination of the first virtual march against gender violence where more than 690 people registered and participated in this pioneering initiative in the Region of Murcia.Likewise, the Department of Women and Equality, where awareness and prevention has been working for more than 20 years in the different educational centers, education being the most effective tool against gender violence, wants to recognize the great work carried out by teachers and students of the different educational centers, dance academies and youth associations in which activities have been carried out during these days in rejection of violence against women, such as representation of plays, production of shorts, story contests in different languages, photography contests, banner contests, making calligrams, awareness talks and participation in the virtual march among many other initiatives.
