| The projects are included in the categories of digital transformation, green economy and energy transition | Recently, it was announced by the European Commission and the Government of Spain, the unlocking of funds to contribute to the repair of the economic and social damages caused by the coronavirus pandemic, to start the European recovery and preserve and create employment.
On July 21, 2020, EU leaders reached agreement on this recovery plan and on the 2021-2027 multiannual financial framework, marking the way towards the end of the crisis and laying the foundations for a modern Europe and more sustainable. In the Region of Murcia, the regional government has promoted an initiative that will define the strategic priorities of the Region of Murcia for its transformation and recovery, and to address regional challenges using for this the funds provided by the European Union to Spain.
Within this project, the collaboration of the region's city councils has been requested to contribute the projects planned for their municipalities.
This is the case of the Cieza City Council, which after reviewing the areas and objectives pursued with the project has made 12 proposals that seek to improve our municipality and the quality of life of the residents of Cieza.
The projects fall into three categories, digital transformation, green economy, and energy transition.
In the first category, the City Council of Cieza has proposed two major initiatives, a modernization project and incorporation of new information and communication technologies in the provision of public services and a project for the incorporation of technology that lead us to develop a smart city model. In the category of green economy, a total of six projects have been presented, including: Green infrastructure actions through the implementation of the strategic plan for urban ecology and biodiversity of the municipality of Cieza, the conditioning of a river path in the Segura River, from the Paraje de la Presa to the Cañ n de Almadenes (GR-127), the conditioning of a Riverside Promenade connecting Cieza - Abar n from the places of Argaz to the Jarral, passing through the Menj (GR-127), the creation of an archaeological park around Almadenes, the rehabilitation of the “Casa de Las Delicias” and the creation of a parking complex of motorhomes and an accessible multi-adventure park. In the last category, that of energy transition, the City Council of Cieza has opted for the renovation projects of the municipal outdoor lighting installations and the implementation of rehabilitation and energy efficiency measures.
ethics in public buildings and schools in the municipality of Cieza, in the creation of a self-sustainable residential center for people with disabilities, in the urban pedestrianization project and construction of parking in Plaza de España and in a project of efficient and inclusive neighborhoods. In the words of the councilor responsible for strategic projects, M.ª Jes s L pez, “with all these projects, the government team intends to continue with the transformation of Cieza that began in 2015, and which pursues the generation of employment, the diversification of economic activity with a clear commitment to sustainable tourism, the inclusion in all aspects of city life and the design of a Cieza that is ever closer of Europe".
