The Councilor for Health and Public Health of the City of Cieza, Francisco Saor n, reports that, in principle, the start of the vaccination against the coronavirus was scheduled for last week, but a delay in delivery and distribution n has determined that they start this Monday, January 4. This Sunday the Ministry of Health released the data regarding the incidence of the pandemic, which added a total of 466 new infections, thus reaching 4,356 active cases, a figure that had not been added since last December 3 December, a month ago, when the second wave began to subside. With regard to Cieza, the number of active cases due to Covid-19 stood at 102, accounting for thirty positives and no cured in the last 24 hours.
Of the total, 58 depend on the Cieza Este Health Center and 44 from the West. By incidence accumulated per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven and fourteen days, our municipality reached 137.19 and 200.07 cases, respectively, data referring to Friday, January 1.
The Cieza Este Health Center goes to the orange phase and the West one remains in the yellow phase. In a press release, the Department of Health and Consumption of the City of Cieza, led by Francisco Saor n, has reported that this Monday begins the first phase of vaccination against COVID-19 in the municipality.
The mayor justifies the delay on the scheduled date to a delay in the delivery and distribution of the vaccine in the municipality. Saor n has underlined that the campaign has started with the vaccination of users and workers in the D.

Likewise, the mayor of Health and Public Health has explained that the vaccines arrive directly at both centers under the custody established by the Ministry of Health and will be provided by nursing personnel from the health centers of Cieza; health workers who have received adequate training for the supply of vaccines both in the form and in handling care. The vaccination plan against the coronavirus established in the autonomous community of Murcia, as in the rest of Spain, began last Sunday, December 27 with the arrival of 335 vaccines.
It is estimated that 12,675 doses arrive weekly until reaching 50,700 in the first phase.
The first vaccines were destined for the Messengers of La Paz residence for the elderly in San Pedro del Pinatar and the special education center of Churra. Saor n has stressed that all the vaccines against COVID-19 that are being distributed have been subjected to exhaustive evaluations in clinical trials and approved or authorized by international organizations. He also stated that, based on what we know about vaccines for other diseases and early data from clinical trials, experts believe that getting vaccinated against COVID-19 could prevent you from getting seriously ill.
