The purple formation considers that the acquisition of bio-shredders provides a sustainable alternative to burning.
For this, it requests a municipal collaboration procedure for the acquisition of stubble shredding machinery and agricultural pruning remains. Podemos Cieza considers the measures taken by this City Council to avoid the burning of pruning remains insufficient, ineffective and costly, in what is the traditional orchard of Cieza.
These orchards, mostly small owners, are characterized by having varied crops and many cases of path access that makes the entry of a mulching tractor unfeasible. The current proposal of the City Council of Cieza regarding the placement of containers is insufficient with a perimeter to travel to the containers that in some cases becomes infinite, not having the farmers in most cases of transport suitable for such need.
In the same way, when dealing with containers without press, trips are multiplied with the following over-cost for the municipal coffers and low efficiency in fact. For all this, for Podemos Cieza it is urgent that the City Council first acquire some medium / small shredders for loans to farmers upon prior request, and secondly, it is processed and regulated, through the Department of Agriculture, subsidies so that these small farmers can buy the crushers that best suit each case.
In this way, the environmental deterioration produced by the agricultural burning of pruning remains will be minimized, replacing current practices with other more sustainable and beneficial for the natural environment, avoiding the emission of pollutants that affect the the health of people and contribute to the damage of our environment and consequent climatic deterioration.
