Podemos-Cieza underlines the importance of this report that brings the parliamentary processing of the new norm closer and that includes one of the main feminist demands regarding crimes against sexual freedom, thus fulfilling an electoral promise from United Podemos. On March 3, the Council of Ministers approved the preliminary draft of the Organic Law of Guarantee of Sexual Freedom, presented by the Minister of Equality Irene Montero.

Thus fulfilling an electoral promise of United We Can and that contemplates one of the main demands of feminism: changing the criminal framework of crimes against sexual freedom in a double sense, eliminating the difference between sexual abuse and assault and demanding , the express consent of the woman at the time of the relationship, "only yes is yes", the motto of the protests in relation to this issue in recent times. This important law, one of the most significant promoted by this government, is much closer to being processed as a bill, after the Fiscal Council, an advisory body of the Attorney General the State has favorably informed the mandatory opinion.

The report is one of the most important steps before the bill's entry into Congress, and, in the words of Maribel Aguayo, spokesperson for Podemos-Cieza, "we have to rejoice at this step, not only because it is the technical opinion of the highest advisory body, but also because it was a unanimous opinion, which is a definitive endorsement of the substantial change in the punitive framework of sexual crimes, a workhorse of United We Can ". The spokesperson for Podemos Cieza continues, stating: "that Minister Montero's proposal is especially significant because it unifies the crime to sexual assault, as well as the need for express consent so that the express crime cannot be imputed." It also reminds us that "the introduction of the crime of occasional mild sexist harassment, known as street harassment, also has the endorsement of prosecutors, as well as the framing of all types of sexual violence as sexist violence, along with crimes of gender violence ". In short, the support of the Fiscal Council represents an impetus for the processing of this law, which will mean a paradigm shift in the treatment that justice gives to crimes of sexual violence against women.
