The Councilor for Works and Services of the Cieza City Council, Francisco Saorn, recalls that, already in 2016, the City Council had to carry out an emergency work in the Cabezo de la Fuensantilla due to the serious urban problem in the area. In June 2016, the Department of Works, led by Francisco Saorn, carried out an emergency work in Cabezo de la Fuensantilla, specifically the construction of a retaining wall "in the face of the dangers of detachment in Rosaleda street and in prevention of possible material and personal damage that could be caused to pedestrians and vehicles on the N-301 road, as well as to the inhabitants of the area ". The work consisted in the reinforcement of the existing slope by means of the terracing with concrete walls and drainage in the back of the same, as well as the arrangement of the concrete path that crowns the slope, since it had multiple cracks. In a press release, Saorn has reported that before Christmas new emergency works were started in Cabezo de la Fuensantilla due to the detachment of a wall in the place; works that suffered a halt due to the unfortunate accident of a worker and that this week have resumed. According to the mayor, the works, which are being carried out by the ALBALUC company and which have an amount of 53,018.04 euros (VAT included), are again focused on Rosaleda street and consist of the demolition of an old wall and fence of potholes, with the consequent removal of materials. Once the demolition of the wall was completed, the excavation for the foundation and construction of a concrete wall filled with gravels was carried out. Likewise, the action includes the demolition of the pavement of Rosaleda Street, its replacement and the replacement of the defense by means of mochetas and railings. Francisco Saorn has declared to be "aware that this is not the comprehensive action that the neighborhood needs, since these interventions had to be carried out many years ago, so that, in the absence of them, the Cabezo de la Fuensantilla is in a sorry state, requiring urgent actions like the one mentioned ". The mayor has warned that the area requires an ambitious action for which, given its high economic cost, "the City Council does not have the financial capacity to carry it out, so it will require the Autonomous Community ¿½noma, who more than 20 years ago pledged to intervene in the neighborhood, its involvement in a joint action for the remodeling of the area that must be reflected in the 2022 budgets " . Finally, Saorn has lamented the accident suffered by a worker on December 22, after falling with the excavator on which he was working at a height of five meters, reporting that, fortunately, he is evolving favorably from the injuries suffered.
