[Saorin: "The next group to be vaccinated will be people aged 80 and over" (25/01/2021)

The Councilor for Health and Public Health of the City of Cieza, Francisco Saorín, informs that the Public Health Commission has tested update 2 of the vaccination strategy that recommends the next groups to be vaccinated. In a press release, the Councilor for Health and Public Health of the City Council of Cieza, Francisco Saorín, reported that the Public Health Commission approved last week update 2 of the Vaccination Strategy in which it is recommended that the people in the first stage: residents and health and social health personnel who work in nursing homes for the elderly and care for large dependents, first-line personnel in the health and social and health field, other health and social health personnel and people considered large dependents who are not institutionalized. The mayor has specified that the same document establishes that within the group of other health and social health personnel, professionals in the hospital and Primary Care field considered first line will be prioritized.

Dentistry, dental hygiene and other health personnel who attend without a mask will also be vaccinated for more than 15 minutes.

In addition, it indicates that health and social health personnel not included in stage 1 may be vaccinated in stage 2 as a priority, within the categories "essential first-line personnel" or "other essential personnel". The two-dose schedule will also be maintained in the populations that are being vaccinated, administering the second dose as soon as possible after 21 days in the case of Comirnaty and as soon as possible in the case of Moderna's cot after 28 days.

And, the complete vaccination schedule will be done with the same brand of vaccine. On the other hand, Saorín has stressed that the next group to be vaccinated in the next stage includes people over 80 and over, who will begin to be vaccinated in the shortest possible time and depending on the availability of vaccine doses. "The ethical justification of the prioritization carried out is based on the principles of necessity, equity and reciprocity, which advise prioritization within each of the groups to vaccinate the people who are most exposed to the risk of becoming ill (health and social health workers most exposed) and those who more are hospitalized and die ", he stressed. Finally, the councilor has specified that "the document of this update also highlights the criterion of solidarity so that all efforts are focused on all those people who may see their health more affected or are more exposed to the virus." function { ;(, , {});}
