The spokesperson for Podemos Cieza Maribel Aguayo, has assured that they intend to request the consistory to offer to the Government of Spain so that Afghan women and girls are welcomed in Cieza, since they are the ones who will suffer the most repression of the Taliban.
From the purple formation they have expressed their concern about the violation of Human Rights in Afghanistan according to the news that comes from the Asian country.
"In recent days the country has been taken over by the Taliban and left to its own devices by the international community, who have rushed to withdraw and evacuate all their compatriots from the country," lamented the spokeswoman.
Maribel Aguayo has shown her concern for the women and girls of Afghanistan who "have already begun to suffer the consequences of Islamic fundamentalism", which is why they demand collaboration between the different Spanish administrations to welcome this part of the most vulnerable population.
"The situation that Afghanistan is suffering is very worrying, since the return of the Islamic regime of the Taliban supposes a constant violation of human rights, but above all for women and girls who with the reinstatement of Islamic Law find themselves in a situation of absolute submission, without rights, and from the moment they are born.
The data for 2021 are terrifying for anyone who works in the XXI century and has Human Rights and Equality as a flag.
You cannot look the other way, we are talking about human lives " says Maribel Aguayo, spokesperson for Podemos Cieza.
"We are going to ask the local executive that our municipality offer itself to the Government of Spain to welcome women and girls from Afghanistan.
We know that migration is going to increase for various reasons, although there are people who to this day continue to ignore it.
.
Migration due to war conflicts, due to a climate emergency and for religious, homophobic and sexist reasons, as is the case in Afghanistan.
Our duty is to welcome those who come seeking their survival.
We must pitch in and fight for Human Rights.
We cannot look the other way while girls are killed, raped and married from the age of 8.
Right now, the great emergency is to guarantee the lives of these women and girls, and from this municipality we must set an example of solidarity, and urge others to do the same, and of course, the first step has to be taken by the Government of Spain ", concluded Maribel Aguayo.
